Class Descriptions
No matter how much, or how little, time you have for working out, we offer something for everyone. We recommend trying several different classes and instructors to find what you enjoy most. And once you’ve found your favorites, we encourage you to keep on exploring so that your workout will stay fresh! Our weekly schedule offers a smorgasbord of more than 70 classes to help you maximize your workout—with new classes introduced all the time.
Body Sculpting Classes
Abs Solution
Whether your goal is a washboard stomach or a stronger core, this journey of flowing progressions is the one for you. Open to all fitness levels.
Body Defined
You set the pace as you switch up your workout with weights, balls, and bands. It’s all here along with plenty of timeless moves like push-ups, sit-ups, and old-school calisthenics designed to define, condition, and strengthen all major muscle groups. Be prepared—each instructor teaches this class differently, so expect the unexpected! Open to all fitness levels.
Willpower and Grace™
WillPower and Grace ™ is a sweaty, dynamic fusion of calisthenics, yoga, and Pilates. This class is the sculpting and cardiovascular solution for Pilates and yoga practitioners. Equipment free, all you need is your body weight and your bare feet. Accommodates all fitness levels.
BodyPUMP™
This revolutionary barbell workout targets all the major muscle groups, while increasing overall muscular endurance. Together with the support of the class and the inspiring energy of the music, BODYPUMP utilizes barbells for one of the fastest, most enjoyable ways to get in shape. Accommodates all fitness levels.
Body Burn
This full-body lifting class targets all your major muscle groups. Combining both traditional and functional exercises, you will effectively burn calories, sculpt your muscles, and have your body “burning” its way into great shape! Open to all fitness levels.
Barre @ the Bay
Dancers bodies have long been admired for their grace and strength. Discover the techniques they use to lengthen and tone, while strengthening muscles. Ideal for the beginning dance student.
Functional Training Classes
XLCR8 Strength
This class is designed for maximum results and power in performance, as well as metabolic and muscular composition change. You’ll enjoy a variety of functional, core strengthening, and dynamic flexibility exercises from this CrossFit circuit training class. Open to all fitness levels.
Bosu Boot Camp
Find the path of least resistance, and your body will begin to move and operate more efficiently. This class combines a warm-up specifically designed to acclimate you to the BOSU, followed by intervals of aerobic and strength segments that blend stabilization moves with classic fitness moves. Accommodates all fitness levels.
Total Athletic Conditioning (TAC)
Imagine the rigors of boot camp supported by its own soundtrack. Now throw in the latest cross-training exercises, weights, and bands—and you’ve got TAC. Cross-training at its best and a whole lot of fun! Accommodates all fitness levels.
Afro-Cuban Salsa
This inspiring class explores Afro-Cuban salsa, including its roots in African rhythm and its relationship to Cuban rumba. Your instructor will teach you the diverse movements and rhythms of Cuban popular dance, and challenge you to find your own expression. Great for beginners and intermediate dancers.
Sports Stretch
Wind down and re-focus your mind in this meditative stretch class. The unique format of Sports Stretch combines elements of gentle physical exercise with deep relaxation and contemplation. Perfect by itself--or after your favorite workout. This is an all-levels class.
Cardiovascular Conditioning Classes
Group & Express Cycling
Indoor cycling at its best. With revolutionary Kaiser bikes, this non-impact cycling workout class is an excellent way to improve your aerobic capacity and reach your fitness goals. Heart rate monitors are welcome. Accommodates all fitness levels. All classes are 45–60 minutes.
Aqua Sport
Use the resistance of the water to improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance, flexibility, and range of motion. A complete conditioning experience, without stress on the body. Open to all fitness levels.
Performance Cycle
Join us for this intense, 75-minute version of our group cycling classes. See just how far you can go, as our instructors push you to your limits with steeper hills and longer climbs. Heart rate monitors are welcome. Previous cycling experience required.
Kick It
Kick It combines a standard kickboxing class with classic boxing, martial arts, and traditional group exercises to create an ultra-heart-pumping performance workout. Previous kickboxing experience required.
Turbo Kick
Turbo Kick brings together today’s hottest music with current kickboxing techniques for a fun-filled and entertaining workout. Turbo Kick is a total body workout experience. Accommodates all fitness levels.
Step
This advance-level step class features fresh choreography and upbeat music for this fun, classic workout. The hour will be over before you know it! Previous Step experience recommended.
Bodystep™
Bodystep™ is the energizing entry-level step workout with strength training. Each class features an intense cardio workout, followed by muscle conditioning block. Accommodates all fitness levels.
Mojito
Drink up the atmosphere of a hot Latin dance club in this fusion-style workout. Salsa-style choreography is blended with jazz and traditional aerobic moves and, of course, heart-pounding music to offer you a refreshing alternative to your regular workout.
Dance Fusion
Bay Club dance instructors teach you a variety of dance styles, set to a unique fusion of popular dance music. Styles of dance include modern, Latin, jazz, and hip-hop. The ideal alternative to your regular cardio routine. No dance experience necessary.
Zumba®
Zumba is a Latin inspired dance-fitness class. It combines Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create an aerobic routine that is fun and easy to follow. Dance styles include salsa, merengue, samba, and more. No dance experience necessary; benefits all fitness levels.
Cardio Movement
In this traditional, but very intense dance-based aerobic workout, we’ll incorporate a combination of non-repetitive high and low impact movement. The body moves in and out of different planes of motion, while accelerating and decelerating! A great alternative to Step and Kickboxing, this class is ideal for the intermediate to advanced fitness enthusiasts.
